Facebook turning into Myspace?

With all the new bells and whistles Facebook is throwing at us, I wonder if it’s going to bog down the most simplistic social-networking site out there.
Facebook Apps
Facebook launched it’s App platform on the 24th of March this year, and received great praise from bloggers and college students world wide (see here). Now you can clutter your Facebook profile page with multiple apps ranging from Graffiti to Twitter plugins. They even went as far as to have “Top Friends” which is similar to Site-That-Must-Not-Be-Named.
Penis Drawing
So now, all of my wonderful, mature friends can post pictures of penises and other insightful things that pretty much turn Facebook into my most hated website of all time. Not that I mind pictures of male body parts (that sounded bad), but is this just the start of something worse?
Hot List
Facebook always credited itself with being fast, simplistic, and clean. With over 200 applications and growing, could this be the demise of Facebook? If someone has over 30 applications running on their page, will it take forever to load? And if someone thinks their 5 flash music players are so cool beside each other, will it crash Firefox? All these questions are uncertain now, but the answers will unfold as the next few months come. I wish you the best Facebook, you always were my favorite.

I hope not! I never jumped on the myspace train just because of that. I don’t mind the applications on facebook because if I don’t wanna see them I just don’t have to install it, or I can ‘x’ out of someone elses music. :)
